Greetings loved ones,
The weather today was a little chilly, but still lovely nonetheless. It usually is fine during the lighter hours of the day, but once it starts to get dark, the temperature drops drastically, naturally. It's just unexpected because it gets dark here so quickly!
This morning we woke up, showered and headed out to the London Center so we could sign up for the school trips to Bath (which is later this month) and then to Edinburgh (which is a little bit after the Bath trip, not exactly sure of the date.) I'm so excited. I love London, but I'm excited to go and see other parts of Europe. I just can't get enough and I am constantly enamored by my surroundings. Each day I wake up here, I have to remind myself that it's real (as corny as that sounds.)
After that, Chelsea, Alex, Ayla, Alex's friend Michael and I ventured off to Buckingham Palace. After taking a few wrong turns, a line that wasn't running and some transferring back and forth, we finally were on the right track. We got off the Victoria station. The area is really pretty and I loved the buildings.
Before I left the States, I was warned numerous times by people to make sure I look the correct way when crossing the street. Although I have been doing that without fail, I have been looking for cars traveling down the road, not bikes. Today I had my eye out for cars and there were none, so naturally I started walking across the street when all of a sudden, I hear a loud barking noise. I was so startled that I quickly turned and saw a biker heading straight for me. Yes, the biker BARKED at me in order to get me to move. It scared the living daylights out of me, but I survived to tell the tale. (great story I know.)
We couldn't get super close to the Palace, as there are gates and whatnot. It was wonderful, but not exactly what I expected I suppose. After being to Versailles, nothing can really top that, hahah. It was cool being able to see the guards though, and I am definitely going to go back to see the changing of the guard one of these mornings.
We then came home via tube and stopped to get some supplies for this evening, as Chelsea and I are going to have breakfast for dinner. We bought eggs and all the ingredients we need for French Toast. I'm pumped!
We're about to indulge in a little One Tree Hill lovin and write some postcards. Living in a city is EXHAUSTING, but I hope one of these days I get my lazy butt in shape and get used to all the walking!
Cheerio!
Paige
