Thursday after our classes, Chelsea and I cracked some beers and blasted our favorite songs while we got ready for the end of term party. We then headed to the Three Kings Pub in West Kensington to meet up with everyone from the ICLC. The food was nooooot great, but we had the chance to see a slideshow of pictures that was put together from all the excursions this semester and even take shots with a former professor. It actually exceeded my expectations. I even won the raffle and got some pretty sweet Wimbledon wristbands that I refuse to take off.
Gen givin some smooches
Claire and Sarah ICLC life savers.
The greatest man in the world.
Just monkeyin around
The infamous wristbands.
A bunch of us then headed to a pub called the Court for a few drinks and then went to The Roxy. It was fun because it was a whole bunch of London Ithakids. We were out pretty late so I was feeling a little rough the next morning.
Friday, Alex and I headed out to Tiger Tiger for one last time to meet up with some friends. We were running kinda late so they were so surprised and excited to see us! We chatted up some locals and danced on the disco floor. (This is the club I lost my jacket at with all the rooms!) Friday was a little bit of a struggle because I ran to the bus and took a little bit of a tumble. I'm a little bruised and scraped, but it was still a great night overall! it was a great laugh.
Saturday morning (or should I say afternoon since I didn't wake up until 1:30), Chels and I headed out to Primark for one last shopping spree. It was a nightmare, as to be expected on a Saturday. We waited in line for the dressing room for probably around 45 minutes and then had to wait in line to check out. Oh Primark, how I will miss your absurdly cheap clothing. We then did some tacky souvenir shopping since we have them from everywhere, BUT London. 50 pounds, 11 shot glasses, 10 keychains, a tanktop and oh so much more later, and I am a happy camper.
Saturday night, I met up with Miguel for one last pint. It's been raining for weeks and the weather was expressing just how I felt about the whole situation. He walked me back to my flat and we said goodbye one last time. This is when it finally started to hit me that this was real. I am actually leaving London.
Sunday morning, I awoke after a very restless night's sleep and got ready to head to Church! And no, not the holy Church. This Church may be the farthest thing from holy. It is a club that operates on Sundays from 12-4. People get really drunk and it gets CRAZY. We had so much fun. It was a perfect last hoorah. We stopped by Fulham Fried Chicken one last time on our way home.
I started packing when I got home and it is going awful. I am going to have to buy another suitcase early tomorrow morning so I can bring everything home. It is going to be a VERY rough day and I expect the tears to continue flowing as they have been for the last 24 hours.
Luckily, I have the absolute greatest dad in the world and he put Chelsea and I on the guest list for the VIP CLub Lounge for Virgin Atlantic. Chelsea and I FINALLY get to be VIPs. We've been waiting all semester for this and it is the perfect sendoff.
I can't believe this is my final weekly update! In the next few days, I'll be posting a general overview of my semester and pointing out my favorite memories from studying abroad!
For one last final time,
sending a whole lot of love from the city I have fallen in love with,
Paige Xx
