Greetings all,
It's been a while, but I'm back and excited as ever to announce my latest adventure! If you've read any posting on my blog in the past, you are well aware of my love of travel. My study abroad experience in London, my summer in Los Angeles as well as various trips back across the pond, I'm in awe and in love with it all.
That being said, I am happy to announce that I will be spending the next year in Ireland! I have obtained a Working Holiday Visa, which, in short, is an agreement between America and Ireland that states that students and recent graduates (within one year) are permitted to work and live in their respective country! I can enter and leave as many times as I'd like as well as hold full time employment during the year in which my visa is valid. It's a win-win across the board.
After many months of researching and deliberation, and a visit to Ireland to visit my darling cousin Courtney, I decided to take the plunge and do it. My intense case of wanderlust has been itchin, and what better way to satisfy the craving than moving back over for a year!
While I know this is a drastic change and many people have or are doubting me (Hi Haters ;) ), this is something that I have wanted for a very long time and I am at a point in my life where it is possible for me to do it, so I say "Why not?!" Life is all about taking risks, and there's no time like the present. If there ever was a "right time," that time is right now.
My employment and housing plans are currently being ironed out, but I could not be more excited for this next leg of my journey. To make it even better, one of my best friends, Michelle is coming with me for the first 3 months! That certainly eases many if not all of my nerves about moving over there. She's the perfect travel companion and I couldn't ask for a better person to take this journey with me. It's gonna be a blast.
I can't wait to dive into the culture and fully immerse myself in the wonderful country that is the Emerald Isle. I'm leaving April 24th, which is definitely starting to sneak up on me. Tickets are booked and now there's no turning back.
Here we go y'all, Living Abroad, Round 2.
Paige xx
