good morning!

Good Morning, my fellow Amurricans!

It is about 9am on Wednesday morning and it is officially my first day of classes! I am extremely nervous, not just because it is my first day, but it is also my first solo tube ride! The tube stations are very close to my destination on either side, I just hope my paranoia and nerves don't get the best of me and I don't get lost!

I heard back from my internship coordinator and it turns out she was out of the country this past week. I have my interview at 11 am on Friday, so I am going to have to find my way there early Friday morning! She seemed very easy going though and I am sure she will be at least a little lenient if I were to get lost.

Yesterday was an awesome day! I woke up and got coffee with a few of my flatmates, Chelsea, Ayla and John. After a number of mixed up text messages, I was able to meet up with one of the locals we've met, Miguel. He took me to Oxford Circus so I could FINALLY get a new camera. It's a bright yellow, Nikon S3100. It's very nice and I can't wait to charge it and take tons of pictures for everyone. He did a lot of haggling for me and got it for 75 pounds and a free memory card, when the original price had been 100 pounds.

After that, he took me out for a few pints. I was so excited, because not only was this my first pint over here, it was also my first pub! My friends and I had been going to restaurant/ club type bars, so it was nice to experience something new. He then took me back to Fulham, where we realized we had time for one more pint at Belushi's. We lost track of time and I realized I had to get going because I was supposed to be meeting up with Chelsea so we could go to a football game for one of my classes (how ridiculous is that, I get to go to a sporting event as part of a class!)

As I was walking home, I ran into her because she was coming to get me to tell me to hurry up! I spun around on two heels and we headed back to the tube station and met up with our friend, Jake, who is also in the class. We headed to White City and met up with the rest of our class for the game. Upon our arrival, a man was selling scarves for 5 pounds, so naturally I bought one so I could cheer for the home team, QPR, or Queens Park Rangers. We got to the stadium and had great seats since the stadium was on the smaller side. The people there were crazy competitive, but it felt so great to see the rivalry and passion they have for the game. It was awesome because I had never been to a "big leagues" football game before. Other than being a little chilly, it was a wonderful game and QPR won!

On our way home, we took a slightly longer route but we eventually found our way. The trip home seemed slightly longer than our trip there, but we got home, I crawled into PJs and made my way to bed.

I have been waking up every night around the same time (4am!) sweating for some reason. I don't know if the heat suddenly kicks in at that time or something, but I wake up and am incredibly thirsty. Eventually I fall back asleep and it gets cooler. I have to remember to keep a large bottle of water next to my bed.

Well, that's all for now. I'll let you know how my THREE HOUR CLASS goes! It is certainly going to be an adjustment from 50 minutes in Ithaca!

My love to all,
Paige Xx
