On my way home from my internship on Tuesday, I had another power struggle with the tube. There was me trying to pretend that I am not completely dependent on it, and then there was the tube, slapping me in the face. The journey that normally takes me an hour and a half took me almost two and a half hours. Apparently there was a signal failure near Liverpool Street so the entire line was down. It’s safe to say I was a tad bit frustrated, but luckily I had a charged iPod and a good book!
On Wednesday, I had my British Pop class. We talked a lot about Electronic Music and how it is evolved. Our professor went on about how one of the singers in a band and his girlfriend decided to both become pansexual. Therefore, each of them adopted another set of “parts.” It was definitely an interesting conversation.
That night, Chelsea and I continued to attempt to book Spring Break. I definitely appreciate my parents booking trips for my whole life. I also realized how spoiled I am because of my Dad’s connections in the travel business throughout my traveling in Europe. We also finished our midterm projects, both of which were today (Thursday).
To lay it out for you, we have Sport Marketing from 10:15-1:15. The entire class was dedicated to midterm presentations on different sport organizations’ marketing plans. Three hours of this. Chelsea and I then ran to exchange some money to get some Euros on our lunch break and stopped at a little restaurant called Byron near school. We scarfed down our burgers, fries and sodas in literally 5 minutes and then ran (yes, literally RAN) back to school to sit through ANOTHER three our class of midterm presentations comparing a UK sport and an American Sport.
We’re going to do a little last minute shopping to get things for our trip and finish up some packing and then I’m going out for drinks with Miguel tonight.
Tomorrow morning, we are heading to Victoria Station to catch the Gatwick Express so we can fly to ITALY. I am so excited. Not only is it a week off from classes and work, but I am spending it in Italy. I am so in love with Europe and the convenience of traveling.
We are flying into Verona and then catching a train from Verona to Venice. Unfortunately we couldn’t book a train ticket yet, so that is a little stressful.
We are in Venice until Sunday morning. While in Venice, Chelsea and I have booked a 3 hour walking tour to take us to all of the main places to see in Venice. We are also looking forward to a Gondola ride!
Sunday morning, we have a train to Rome. We will be taking a tour of the Colosseum, Palatinum Museum, Foro Romano. Monday, we have a walking tour of Sistine Chapel, Raphael’s Rooms, St. Peter’s and the Vatican Museums. It’s definitely going to be jam packed, but we’re getting to see the main sights we wanted and that’s what matters!
Monday evening, we have a train to Florence. This is when we get to relax. We have nothing officially planned so we’re looking forward to just wandering around, sipping some wine and enjoying ourselves. We are looking into a wine tasting tour so we can be the classy individual we have grown into.
Friday morning we are planning on going to Pisa and taking all of those lovely touristy photos in front of the Leaning Tower and grabbing some lunch. That evening, we have a flight home to London! We then have one day and then Juice and Noah are coming. Life is sweet. Let me just tell you.
Now since we have almost everything booked and midterms are over, I feel like I can relax and enjoy my Spring Break. Some other places people are going for Spring Break are Barcelona, Brussels, Greece, Germany, etc. It is blowing my mind how my semester is almost over. I can’t believe I have to go back to real life soon! Well almost real life. If all works out as planned, I have Los Angeles to look forward to so that will definitely soften the blow!
This is probably my last blog post until I return from Spring Break and I’ll have plenty of pictures and stories for you all! That’s it for now, but until next week, Ciao!
Xx
Paige
