Greetings all!
So I didn't end up going to Havana on Thursday. Apparently the Board made the new law or something about having to be 21. It's a bunch of nonsense if you ask me. It's Havana we're talking about... not some high profile club. Anyway, I just stayed in and relaxed.
Friday, I stayed in bed and relaxed... All day. It was magical.
Saturday, I was beginning to go a little stir crazy. Pretty much nobody was around because they were traveling, sick or had family here. Luckily, Miguel came and saved the day. I met him near his house in Westbourne Park and then we walked along the canal. It's a side of London I had never seen before. It wasn't a really ugly day, but it wasn't sunny. Even when it was overcast, you could tell how beautiful it is in that area and how perfect it must be when it's sunny! It took us a pretty long time before we arrived in Camden. We went into a bar to grab a quick pint,(it was going to be 21+ in about 10 minutes... I tell ya, London is suddenly out to get me.)
We then walked through the market which was nothing short of awesome! It apparently used to be stables so there are a lot of horse statues around. We walked through and there are some interesting shops in there, but that atmosphere is really cool. We grabbed some pizza from one of the food stands and continued to go into some pretty strange stores and just laugh at how goofy it was.
After the market, we found a Spanish Bar with Sangria for pretty cheap. We drank some before heading to The World's End bar which was way bigger than I anticipated! We played round after round of Pub Quiz (it's addicting if you've ever played it.. it's just too difficult to walk away!) We then decided to head back to the Sangria place to meet up with some of his friends before heading to The Electric Ballroom. Well we were just having too much fun at the Sangria Bar and we never actually made it to The Electric Ballroom haha. It was a fun and random night!
Sunday (Easter), I laid in bed all day. I needed some time to recover from the Sangria lol. I definitely was missing my family though so an evening phone call from them really cheered me up :) Chelsea brought back a little easter box from her mom that was full of candy which was so sweet!
Monday, I had off so I once again just relaxed. Miguel came to hang out with me and I FINALLY got to watch the Inbetweeners movie! (That was the show I was obsessed with a few months ago.) The movie was nowhere near as funny as the show, so I was pretty disappointed.
Tuesday, I woke up and got ready for work and just as I was about to leave, I checked my phone and I had a text from my boss. She wanted me to meet up with her to pick up a directory so I could continue transferring the information into the spreadsheet like I had been doing, but from home. She was going to be out of the office for most of the day so it just made more sense for me to work from home. I went back to bed for about an hour before I made the trek to meet up with her.
Tuesday night, I headed to my friends' to go out to the Rocket (The place with the cheap Snakebite drinks!) for our friend Chris's birthday! When we first got there, the atmosphere was a little weird, but we figured it was probably just because it was early. The music started playing and it was the good ol Rocket once again. Around 11:30 everyone wanted to start heading to Sports Cafe, but I was just too exhausted. I headed home to bed. Lame, I know, but I had class the next morning. I'm such a good student, I know.
Wednesday, (Today) I have class. I'm happy my internet is working because I cannot physically sit here for 3 hours and listen to a lecture. Like I've said multiple times, I will NEVER complain about a 50 minute class ever again in my life. That will be a walk in the park compared to a 3 hour lecture.
I'm in the process of trying to figure out my schedule for next year. MY SENIOR YEAR. Is that some sort of sick joke? It has to be... Didn't I just start college? Where is the time going?! I now understand when people say it will be the fastest 4 years of your life.
The next few weeks are when all my work is finally going to start happening. For my Brit Pop class, I have a project, a paper, a final and another paper. For Sport Marketing and SPUK, I have a book report, 2 finals, and a journal (which I am luckily pretty much up to date in!). It is not actually that much work but compared to not doing much homework over the semester, I am not liking that it's all happening in my last few weeks when I want to enjoy the short amount of time I have left here!
My family is coming this weekend!! I'm so excited. Although I saw my dad a few months ago, I haven't seen my Mom or Lilo since I left on January 9th! My cousin Cait is coming too, so it's gonna be a fantastic weekend. Originally we were going to go to Dublin, but that didn't work out, but I'm excited to do London stuff with them :)
That's it for now I suppose.
Lots of Love coming your way from a London Loving Girl,
Paige
Xx
