Weekly Updatizzle from good ol' London

Hello Hello Hello!

This past week has been pretty standard, but even standard seems to be magical these days, as corny as that sounds.

We got back from Amsterdam at around 2am on Monday morning. I woke up for my internship, but luckily I got to work from home since it was a Monday, so I stayed in PJs all day. It was wonderful. I got my work done and then after work, I headed over to the Westbourne Park area to get a few drinks with Miguel. He took me to some pretty posh bars/pubs so it was a lovely evening.

Tuesday, I woke up and headed to my internship where I did some standard work and research. Nothing special to report there other than since it is Easter holiday, her kids were home and I got to hang out with her four year old son all day. Tuesday night, I got home and started applying for internships. I had applied for a few before I left for Amsterdam and had heard back and so far they had all been "no", but I got a few offers from people to pass my resume around to some other people who may need internships. The main internship I want is with Virgin Atlantic Records.

Wednesday, I had my British Pop class. We talked about music, obviously, and that was that. I came home and began to work on my 8 page paper that was due the next day on the marketing strategy of the Barcelona Football Club. I had to go to a concert for my BP class so I headed out around 7:30pm. Once I got to where I had to go, it was night time and I couldn't find the place and I just said forget it because I knew a lot of my classmates weren't going and I wasn't trying to sit there alone if I could even find it. I took some pretty snapshots on the Thames, and turned around and headed home to finish my paper.

Thursday morning, I emailed myself my paper to print once I got to school and headed to class. Our professor, Gen, brought her son to school since he was on holiday as well and he is literally one of the cutest kids I have ever seen. He is a 7 year old, blonde haired, blue eyed, sperry wearing, confident kid. He was a riot. In Sport Marketing we talked about the whole Mario Balotelli prostitute scandal and how his agent handled the situation as well as some other new forms of media and how they are affecting the marketing industry. We ended class early so Chelsea and I went to grab some burgers at that restaurant we went to a few weeks ago. Once again, DELICIOUS. We ran back to class (yes, ran. I feel like I have spent a majority of my semester running places.) In SPUK, we discussed the history of the Boat Race which takes place every year on the Thames between Oxford and Cambridge. It's this weekend, so I am hoping someone is around to go with me! We watched the beginning of the movie, True Blue (which I am going to need to finish watching.) We then headed to Covent Garden to see all of the Eggs on display for the Great Egg Hunt that takes place all through out London to raise money for charity. The eggs are huge and spectacular. They were so creative and awesome to look at. Our final for SPUK is going to be to design an egg that tells a story about something related to what we've done in class or what we have learned or the Olympics.

Now, tonight, I am not sure what I am going to do. Hopefully I do not get turned away from Havana! I'm still debating if I even want to try and go. We'll see what happens. We're not traveling this weekend, so I get to sleep in tomorrow! I am more excited than I could even begin to tell you. I haven't slept past 9am in WEEKS. And for all of you that know me well, I LOVE TO SLEEP. I've actually developed a normal person sleeping schedule almost. I go to bed at a reasonable hour (unless I am out) and then I wake up early and have productive days! It's shocking really.

I miss you all terribly and as the final countdown begins for my time here, I wish more and more that you all could be here with me :)

Lots of love from London,
Xx Paige
