As I believe I mentioned previously, Michelle's wonderful cousins gave us 2 extra tickets to see One Direction! I had tickets to go at home in August, but obviously plans have changed a bit haha.
Mean muggin' for 1D |
WELL GUESS WHAT-- a group of about 12-13 boys who were probably between the ages of 10 and 15 grabbed those suckers RIGHT OUT OF MY HAND. Snatched um up and laughed as they ran/ rode away on their bikes. Anyone who knows me knows my biggest fear about coming to Ireland was being robbed by gypsies. Well, this was my worst nightmare, because not only were we robbed, BUT IT WAS THE CONCERT I'VE BEEN DYING TO SEE.
A group of young girls saw it happen and came with us to the Garda to explain hoping they could help us out. After being led a bunch of different places and with the help of the wonderfully kind Irish people (and some tears flowing down my cheeks), they gave us wristbands and we got to watch the concert from the pitch! It was one roller coaster of a day.. lemme tell ya.
The concert was fantastic and I'm even more in love so judge me all you want, people. I have no shame. They even set off fireworks at the end. We ended the night with quite a few 2 euro drinks at Dicey's to celebrate.
Happy doesn't begin to cover it |
The next morning I had to get up early to go register myself with the Garda. Let me paint this picture for you.. Imagine the DMV.. but with three times as many people, a bunch of screaming children and a six hour wait. All while a bit tired and hungover from the night before with no access to wifi. Miserable does not even begin to cover it haha. After waiting for a majority of the day (seated on the floor), I am registered and officially legal and able to live here so Yahoo!
Other than those drama filled events, we've been hanging out and enjoying the Irish life. I got a chance to print my resumes today so I can start applying for jobs in person so I can perhaps start making some money instead of burning it haha.
Tomorrow (or should I say tonight), Michelle and I are headed to Paris to visit Emily! She's over there working at the French Open and I could not be more excited to not only see Miss EmGaff, but also get back to Paris! Our flight leaves at 6am so we're just ecstatic about not sleeping tonight haha. We're there until Sunday morning so we'll have plenty of time for exploring, croissants and wine.
Sending love back home as always,
Paige xx
