London Nightlife

Friday night, Ayla, Jake, Mike and I headed out to Picadilly Circus to a sports bar that Mike had been to a few nights ago. For some reason, it was closed. We ventured off to find somewhere else to go. There are so many club promoters that just keep talking to you even when you say no, talk about dedicated to their job. One guy followed us for blooooocks. He almost convinced us to buy tickets to one of the clubs, but then he started yelling and we were just NOT going to take that attitude. Why would we give our money to someone who was being rude? We tried to explain that to him but he just didn't seem to get it.

We found a club called the Picadilly Institute. We even saw a fight before we walked in the door. Some woman was SCREAMING at some guy about how she was classy and very hardworking (as she stood there barefoot, drunk and yelling profanities.) I was very interesting. The club itself was AWESOME. It was incredibly expensive, but it had multiple floors and rooms. The first floor was your standard bar with music playing and lots of people dancing. The second floor was more like a club with strobe lights and whatnot. It was called the clinics and all of the bartenders were dressed in scrubs and nurse uniforms. There were even mannequins hanging from the ceiling! The third floor was called something else, I forget, but it was just a bunch of couches and people hanging out. We spent all of our time on the clinic floor.

I took my first double decker bus! I sat on the top deck, obviously. It took us about 25 minutes or so to get home. We witnessed another drunken argument, but this time it was just yelling. It took us right outside the Fulham Broadway tube station, so we were very close to home.

Yesterday, Chelsea and I went to the Blackheath Rugby match for one of our classes. It took us quite a while to get there, but totally worth it. I've never seen a rugby match before, so it was awesome to see one in such a great club. The Blackheath club is the oldest Rugby club and is very small, therefore all the action is RIGHT in front of you. It was awfully cold out, so we spent some of the time inside warming up. I have to say, I think I may have fallen in love multiple times while watching the match. They are SO HOT.

Last night, Ayla and I headed to a stop off of the Hammersmith and City Line. It was a little bit farther than we normally go, but we were meeting up with Fran and some of his friends. We then headed to a club called the Electric Factory where we met up with a BUNCH of people we knew from Ithaca. We were taking over the dance floor! We met up with some more of Fran's friends, including Miguel. The place was great. The drinks were reasonably priced and they played fantastic music. We were dancing all night long!

It's been a great last few days here in London! Now I am off to do some homework (BLEGHHH.) I'm missing you all so incredibly much, especially my Ithaca friends as they all head back to the good ol Ith! Also, I hear you all got lots of snow. FINALLY!

Lots of love,
Paige Xx
