Sports, Sports, and oh yeah... sports.

Today I had my first FULL day of classes. Yes I know, I only have two days of classes per week and I shouldn't be complaining, but it was ROUGH. Today I had Sport Marketing from 10:15-13:15 (1:15 if you're not on GMT time! ;) ) and then Sport in The United Kingdom (or SPUK) from 13:45-16:45. Both in the same classroom, with the same teacher and with most of the same people. Luckily, my teacher is AWESOME.

Although it was a long day, I learned a lot already and it seems like both courses are going to be fantastic. My teacher is a sports attorney, so she does a lot of work with famous athletes over here in the UK, as well as a rugby player for England for the Rugby Football League, not too long ago. She is a straight up BOSS. She keeps the class interesting and relates things to the topic she's covering, so although it was 6 hours, it was actually interesting. I am just really exhausted.

In both of the classes, it seems that we're going to be visiting some awesome places. Next week, for SPUK, we're going to visit the site of the Olympics. I literally cannot wait! I can't wait to watch the Olympics and be able to point out all of the places I've seen. This Saturday, we're going to a rugby match which will also be pretty great since I've never seen one before, aside from some clips on the internet and some pictures of my friend Mel who plays for Springfield (oh heeeey girl, shout out.) There is also some discussion about going to Wimbledon and maybe a polo match? I'm really excited to be exposed to so many sports that I haven't had a chance to see. Also, one of our classes will be spent in a pub learning all about the history of pub games in England. Is that real life? I get to go have a beer, in a pub, with a teacher, and play classic pub games, FOR CLASS. it blows my mind.

I love how the professors here are so open as well. They are much more open with discussions than my classes in America. I thought that my Ithaca professors were less reserved, but it is even more unrestricted here! I love it. The professor I had today is relatively young and can definitely connect with the students, while still allowing us to learn.

Tomorrow morning I have my internship interview at 11:00, so that will be interesting, seeing as I still have NO idea how to get there. My supervisor gave me her phone number just in case I get lost, but I don't think she understands how generally incompetent I am when it comes to directions! I'll let ya know how that all plays out.

Cheerio for now!
