Greetings from Los Angeles!

Hello Hello!

First off, this is my fiftieth post. I feel as if that should have some sort of shout out because it seems as if it should be significant for one reason or another.

Secondly, I am officially in LA and moved into my apartment! Sunday morning, We left pretty early for the airport and I was very appreciative of the fact that I have developed a taste for coffee haha. Although it was 6:30 am, I was so excited to start my next adventure. We arrived at the airport, I checked my bags and then headed to Starbucks to get a quick bite to eat. Although the bagel was stale and I only ate half of it, nothing was gonna bring me down. I headed towards security, said goodbye to my family and off I went!

I was in first class, so I had a fantastic flight. There were unlimited movies and TV shows, as well as delicious food and some snacks along the way. Valerie Harper (Rhoda from The Mary Tyler Moore Show) was seated one row ahead of me! It was definitely starting to feel like I was headed to LA.

I was greeted at the airport by Alejandro who was the driver my dad had hired to pick me up. I felt like a VIP because I didn't have to lift a finger. We arrived at the Oakwood Apartments and after a few minor setbacks, I was finally able to move in! I unpacked most of my things right away, made my bed and then got to meet my roommate Kat. She is a friend of Julianne's and she is lovely! I'm so excited to live with them for the next 9 weeks. Oakwoods is literally a resort. The property is BEAUTIFUL, there are two pools, 2 gyms, hot tubs, convenience stores, etc. It seems like I would never have to leave if I didn't want to!

On Monday, I went and rented my car. When the woman handed me the keys and sent me on my way, I had a minor freak out about driving in LA.  I quickly got over it and started adjusting to driving a small car. I ran some errands before heading back to the apartment to get ready before Raquel and Namita arrived.

Once they got here, we went to In N' Out Burger where I was reacquainted with just how delicious it is. It is a problem because I cannot possibly gain any more weight than I already have from London! I am going to need to control myself haha.

We then headed to Venice Beach to meet up with one of our Ithakids, Tommy. He showed us some cool places around Venice like the canals and the pier. It was a really nice night.

Tuesday, I had orientation all day. Although, I can't complain because it was most certainly not a normal orientation. We had about an hour and a half of orientation before we had lunch. We then headed down the road to the Pendleton Center which is the "school." After a brief tour, we made our way across the street to the Warner Brothers lot where we got to see a TBS studio show taping. It is called Sullivan and Son and premieres on TBS on July 19th! Just after I had gone through security, I made my way up the stairs, only to see Vince Vaughn coming down them! I was so taken back that I blurted out "HI!" and he looked at me and said in his very deep, Vince Vaughn-y voice, "Hey, what's up?" I was definitely star struck and I can't believe it was only day 3 and I was INCHES away from an A-lister.

After the show, we had some pizza before changing to go hike the Hollywood Sign. It was absolutely beautiful. It is so wonderful to me that as busy as Los Angeles is, there is such a peaceful and serene place to escape to. I suppose every city has a spot like that, but it was breathtaking. It was also nice to see the sign from another perspective. By the time we hiked down, it was night time so it was a little difficult to see, but we made it!

from left to right: Kat, Keara and myself. I'm awkward.

I came home, showered and then headed out with Namita and Raquel to Mulholland Drive. . The views from there are spectacular as well. The houses were insane! It was a lovely end to a wonderful day.

This morning, Raquel, Namita and I went to IHOP for breakfast. I ate my weight in French Toast but it was worth it. I then said goodbye to them and I am now here sitting on my balcony in the California sunshine. I have to run a few errands today and I want to go scope out where I have to go tomorrow for my interview with Atlantic Records! I'm so nervous, but excited at the same time. Hopefully they like what I bring to the table so then I can actually have the internship that made me want to come to LA in the first place!

I hope you're all staying dry in the lovely New York weather and know that I'm thinking of all of you and wishing you were here with me!

Lots of Love from the Golden Coast,

Paige xx
